The Thin Man is a 1934 movie about how much nicer Christmas was without the Volstead Act.
It also tells the origin story of the American Bar Association (DO YOU SEE WHAT I DID HERE I am trying but I think that candle joke is the best I've got for this movie is PERFECT.)

Smokey and the Bandit was a 1977 feature film that was Not Star Wars. It was a sober (!) meditation on many of American society's ills at her bicentennial. Some of the topics covered were

10) The peak of American masculinity and attractiveness
