so, when you aren't seeing the speed you think you should from your internet connection -- especially if your plan is over 100 megabits -- be sure to check all of the routers/switches you have along the route to your machines. especially if these devices are older, they may only be designed to handle up to 100m/b, thus forming a bottleneck.

(oh, and label your goddamn cables while you're at it. trust me).
